Emergency Preparedness Resources

For family emergency preparedness resources, go to the Emergency Preparedness Resources page.

We strongly urge all block captains become C.E.R.T. certified by completing the training offered by Springville City. We also encourage anyone in the ward who wants to become certified to do so. Springville City usually offers the courses for this on a yearly basis – see: https://www.springville.org/fire-rescue/emergency-preparedness/emergency-drill/cert/. C.E.R.T. is part of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). For more information about it see: https://www.ready.gov/cert. This site has participant manuals in English and Spanish. They also have participant slides in English and Spanish. That same information page has links to the course content videos and so does the Springville website. It’s a good idea to go through the materials before taking the course so that you’re already familiar with the content.

If you become C.E.R.T. certified, please let us know through the contact page of this site. We would love to add you to our ward’s emergency preparedness team.

Ham Radio

We are ALWAYS in need of ward members who are certified as H.A.M. radio operators. If you’re interested in becoming certified, you can usually find local class/test offerings listed at some of these sites:

If you’re already a certified H.A.M. radio operator or you recently became certified, and would like to volunteer your services to the ward, please contact us through the contact page of this site.
